What is anodizing?
In layman's terms, anodizing prepares the aluminum surface to act like paper and absorb color "into" the surface of the aluminum becoming a painting inside the metal.
Personal Statement from Peter Kellett :
I've spent 35 years developing Anographics, it has evolved into what might be the most versatile art medium. Basically a water color medium, it can employ practically every artist medium into its pallet. Water dyes can be applied in many ways, brush, air brush, splatter, sponge, silk screen, etc, and can be immersed in a dye vat to produce sold water color effects. It also has an oil based dye/ink that can be brushed, air brushed, splattered, smeared and any other application techniques. The oils are also a resist to the water colors. The inks can be used as a resist for etching of the aluminum, so etching can also be employed in the creation of a work of art. A clear resist can also be used on the water dyes to create solid colors. Water color, oil color, silk screens, etching, engraving, felt pens, pencil, bleaching, texture, polishing, glass bead blast, graining, sanding, machining, hammering, and other techniques to prepare the canvas surface. All of these can be used in one art piece in any combination if needed, making it an extremely versatile modern art medium.
