Please review all the 50 photos and 4 minuet walk around and start up video link below - on your phone scroll down to the description tab and the photos will be there also This is a very nice old original unrestored very late full width hub R51/3 non matching engine and frame but both1954 R51/3 engine and and frame - the factory information indicates that frame - 538108 - BMW R 51/3 - built March 12th, 1954 - delivered March 12th, 1954 to the German BMW dealer Ullein in Bamberg. The engine 540001 - BMW R 51/3 - built July 2nd, 1954 - delivered November 15th, 1954 to the BMW importer Butler & Smith in New York. The previous owner I got this from purchased this bike in 1974 and the Frame and engine were together then I believe these have been together 60+ years. As seen by the information in the photos
As seen it is a tatty old rider, it has been sitting but it starts right up and goes through all the gears one or two kicks, runs and rides very well but is in need of tires desperately and a proper tune up. The worst thing on the bike condition wise is the paint on the tank and rear fender - the front is possible the nice original paint fender you will ever see - lovely original alloy rims which are rare one year only I believe - lights work - but stop light wiring need hooking up its all there, as well as the horn. Runs rides and stops just how it is meant to, has usual clunky plunger gearbox, other than that its a nice old rider or a lovely complete motorcycle core for restoration.
The motorcycle has California title. It also has a bunch of old paperwork from the day, and some other registrations and paperwork and which you can see it is the original license plate on there.
Anyone is more than welcome and encouraged to come and see it before bidding located in Boulder City NV. Shipping and crating is the responsibility of the buyer but I will assist in any way I can. It can be delivered locally at your cost of my time and gas. The buyer must pay 0 deposit via paypal within 48 hours and the balance by cash, cashiers check or wire transfer within 7 days of auction end.
